This website is operated by Pittsburgh Chimney Repair. Using it means you accept these terms.
Prices on this site are estimates
Every price range shown anywhere on this website is a planning estimate for the Pittsburgh market, not an offer and not a quote. Chimney work is priced after inspection, because access, height, roof type, the condition of the masonry underneath and what a camera finds inside the flue all change the number materially. A quote is only binding when it is in writing and signed.
Information, not advice
The explanatory content on this site describes how chimneys generally fail and what generally fixes them. It is not a diagnosis of your chimney and should not be relied on as one. Do not use it to decide that a chimney is safe to operate. If you suspect a blockage, a flue defect, a carbon monoxide problem or damage after a fire, stop using the appliance and have the chimney inspected.
Safety
Nothing here is an instruction to work at height. Chimney access means being at the highest point of a building, often on a pitched or slate roof, and falls from roofs kill people every winter in this region. If you choose to do any of it yourself, that is your decision and your risk.
Quotes, scheduling and cancellation
Written quotes are valid for 30 days. Work is scheduled subject to weather — we will not put a person on an iced, wet or snow-covered roof, and rooftop work will be postponed rather than rushed. If we find something during a job that changes the scope, work stops and you are called before anything further is done.
Cancellations with at least 24 hours' notice are free. Later than that, a call-out fee may apply.
Workmanship
Work carried out is warranted against defects in workmanship for the period stated on your written quote. That warranty does not cover damage from storms, impact, structural movement of the building, work done by others afterwards, or continued use of an appliance we advised against using.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Pennsylvania law, our liability arising from the use of this website is limited to the amount you have paid us for services. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
